After being left without a place to sleep, I had to walk more than two miles in the pitch black, with very little street lighting, to a hotel with a vacancy. Many nearby rooms were sold out. I had prepaid in full on January 28th, 2026, for this leg of a multi-stop business trip and arrived around 9 pm on February 10th, 2026. It took an hour just to check in and get a key. When I opened the room, someone inside called out, and I realized the room was occupied. The front desk said the hotel was overbooked, partly because six rooms were out of service. Three hours later they still hadn't found me a room or helped me locate another hotel or arrange a taxi, shuttle, or other ride. The manager wouldn't come speak with me. Given the location, there were no Ubers, Lyft, or on-call taxis. Neither the hotel nor Hilton Honors customer service provided meaningful help. Hilton offered 10,000 honor points, which were useless when I had nowhere to rest. When I asked for a refund, they said I had to sort it out myself because I'd booked through hotels.com, and they wouldn't assist. This place clearly doesn't value customer service, takes poor care of its guests, and shows no concern for their safety.

We told the front desk about the problems and canceled our second night. We might have given them another star if anyone had apologized or taken responsibility. They were nice enough, but all we got was, “I understand, I would feel the same way.” After a long day of travel, we just wanted to rest, but the first room had trash in both bins, dirty floors, poop marks on the toilet, and a mirror that looked sprayed with cleaner and left to dry. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked for another room. That one had gross, sticky floors in the entryway and bathroom, plus dirty carpets. We were frustrated and ready for sleep, so we checked the towels and beds, which seemed clean, and crashed for the night. We won't stay at this location again.

It's a bonus that they allow pets, and I'd definitely stay again. The service was impeccable, and the staff were great. Our room was missing toilet paper, the wall-mounted holder was broken, the curtains were broken, and the TV remote had no batteries. Breakfast had no butter and no meat options. I wonder if they're understaffed, with the staff they do have working hard and staying positive and polite. If that's the case, they're doing a great job overall.

After a long drive from Tampa, we stopped at the Hampton Inn in Bainbridge, GA, since we only wanted to drive about another hour and it was pretty much the only option in the area. We're longtime Hilton Honors members, and Hampton Inns are usually a dependable, comfortable choice for us. The broken front sliding door should have been our first warning, but we went in anyway. Check-in was easy, and Cynthia at the front desk was kind and welcoming. She quickly got us settled in Room 125. On the way down the hall, we saw doors cracked open, then several standing wide open. One had no doorknob, and another had what looked like a hole drilled right through its knob. It felt like a low-budget mystery movie. Our own door was slightly open, too. Since it was just me and my daughter's best friend, we went back to tell Cynthia about the open doors. She said housekeeping sometimes left them that way even though they weren't supposed to, and reassured me it was safe. We headed back and, because the door was already open, I kicked it the rest of the way in to check that nobody was inside. Not a relaxing arrival after a long drive. The room smelled strongly of wet dog, and our shoes stuck to the floor. That was enough for us. We told Cynthia we weren't staying. She offered another room, which was kind of her, but after the hall and the room we'd seen, we weren't comfortable. She couldn't issue a refund herself because a manager had to do it, but said she'd leave a note and we could call the next day. We got back in the car and drove another hour to Dothan, Alabama, where the Home2 Suites was clean and welcoming, just what we needed after a long travel day. I'd recommend it if you're passing through. Cynthia was kind and helpful, but the property's condition and the security concerns were alarming. Having to make a tactical entry just to check into a hotel means something has gone seriously wrong. I hope management fixes these problems soon. This wasn't what we expect from a Hampton Inn or Hilton property.

I was put in three rooms before I finally settled on the third. The first two were filthy and had TVs that didn't work. None of the three rooms had smoke detectors, and detectors in the second and third floor halls kept chirping. The wood under the mini fridge was waterlogged, and there was food or possibly blood splatter on the walls. Only one treadmill in the fitness center worked. It took over two hours to get into that third room because the only person working from 5 pm until morning was busy with other guest complaints while also checking people in. She said she was alone almost every day from 3 to 11 pm. Don't stay here. Go somewhere in Tallahassee. You've been warned.
