While I was still a guest at Courtyard Bakersfield, my belongings were taken out of my room without my consent or any notice. I only found out when I returned. It left me feeling unsafe and raised serious concerns about privacy, communication, and trust. A paid hotel room should be private, and nobody should handle your things without permission. I’m sharing this so other travelers can make an informed choice and ask how guest property is handled before booking.

The room was spacious, and the staff were friendly. Our dog really liked the balcony, and there was plenty of room on the property for the dog to sniff around. The one downside was that there wasn’t a breakfast buffet.

The hotel stayed clean and quiet, and the staff were courteous and helpful. I got good rest with the blackout curtains, even though the bed felt a little firmer than I’m used to. The Bistro was a nice change, with delicious breakfast and dinner choices. A very pleasant stay.

The hotel is newer, the rooms were clean and well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. But check-in soured the stay. When we arrived, the internet was down, so they couldn’t make room keys. They asked us to write our credit card number on a notepad. We refused because we already had a card on file, and I raised a security concern. After a lot of back and forth, they gave us a room. An employee had to escort us with the master key, but the first room was already occupied, so we had to go back and get another one. What should’ve been quick took about 30 minutes. The AC was loud and the walls were thin. Our stay was short, so it was only a slight inconvenience, but they really need a better backup check-in process than pen and paper and one master key.

The hotel was clean and well kept, and I enjoyed my weekend there. It’s fairly central, with some restaurants around. Costco is about a five-minute drive and Starbucks roughly ten minutes away.
