Holiday Inn & Suites Bakersfield by IHG

The sheer window curtain let in all the sunlight, so sleeping late wasn't really possible. Aside from that, my boyfriend and I had a comfortable stay on December 1st, 2025, after finding a good last-minute deal. The room was clean, and we felt safe there. I liked having a walk-in shower instead of a bathtub, and the staff were very nice. It was good value and a nice stay.

Getting around was easy from this location, and it stayed quiet at night. My room had what I needed and was clean and cozy. The staff were really friendly and ready to help. I had a great few days at the Holiday Inn and would come back.

We used the small fitness center, and it did the job. The hotel has spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good service, and a bathroom with all the amenities. The shower worked well too. The breakfast was a mixed bag: despite being made to order, the eggs, potatoes, and meats were lukewarm or cold, and the potatoes tasted rubbery. Still, breakfast was better than at many other hotels. We were disappointed that there was no refrigerator for the chicken sandwiches we bought, so we had to throw them away. At 2:40 am, the heating unit started rumbling like a truck in the room. It was very loud, though I managed to turn it off after five minutes.

The only thing missing from the clean, fairly spacious room was a mini fridge. We arrived in the early evening to find five people ahead of us, and receptionist Aly stayed attentive, letting everyone know she'd be with them soon. She kept her cool through a stressful wait, which I appreciated.
