The man at the counter was nice, and the location put me in town where I needed to be. That's about where the positives ended. The room smelled like old cigarette smoke, the carpet was stained all over, and the furniture was worn and mismatched. I found roaches and mouse droppings, and when I pulled back the blankets there was someone else's hair in the bed. I kept my clothes on and stayed just long enough to sleep for six hours before leaving. This used to be a decent hotel when I lived here more than 20 years ago, but it's clearly past its best days. There are signs all over the office saying “NO REFUNDS,” so don't expect to get your money back.

The room had cockroaches and gnats everywhere, and the carpet was stained beyond cleaning. I managed to sleep okay once I got past the bugs, but I couldn't get the TV working. It wasn't worth what we paid.

We had to rent three rooms for our family after getting caught in a snowstorm, with no motels available in San Angelo. The place is in an old building, but it's kept up well. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the carpet looked regularly shampooed, and they smelled fresh with no lingering cigarette odor. Staff were friendly, welcoming, smiling, and attentive. It was quiet and peaceful, close to a grocery store and food. Towels and toilet paper are provided, but bring your own shampoo. My family and I were satisfied with our stay. This is the cheapest place in town, but it ought to cost less. The room was relatively clean, with a slightly odd smell that wasn't too bad, but both bedsheets had lots of hair and very strange stains. The ice machine doesn't work, and don't count on breakfast. Bring your own shampoo, since the amount provided is tiny. The staff aren't friendly. Water pressure was good, and the TV and AC worked. It might be okay for a hunting or fishing trip, but plan to sleep in a sleeping bag on top of the bed. No woman in my household would stay here.
