Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

The location and room were fine, but I was shocked by how my mom was treated over a billing problem. We stayed for a conference, and after a flight change she called Sheraton Inner Harbor two weeks beforehand to shorten the stay by one night. They assured her on the phone that it was fine and she wouldn't be charged for that night. The front desk gave us the same assurance at check-in and check-out. After we left, her card was charged for an extra night she hadn't stayed. When she called, a staff member at Sheraton Inner Harbor berated her for ten minutes as though she couldn't read English. No hotel has ever treated her like that. Think twice before staying here.

The staff were kind and accommodating, but the rooms need a deep clean and updates. For a short visit to a sports event or something at Baltimore's convention center, maybe one night is fine. Staying longer makes the problems more noticeable. The wallpaper in my room had a splash on the upper bulkhead above the windows, possibly blood, which was disturbing and gross. The lamps were broken and crooked, and need replacing. The heating system sounded like a freight train when it switched on or off, and disturbed our sleep both nights.

The location is great, close to the ball park and harbor, and service was about what you'd expect at other hotels. But the room didn't impress me. The queen beds felt more like large fulls, the bed skirts were dirty, and I found two copies of the amenities book behind the dresser and desk. If housekeeping notices they're missing, wouldn't they check? Twice? The beds are open underneath, but the space clearly isn't cleaned. Curtains were held to the wall with double-sided tape, the heat was very loud when it switched on and off, and the small amenities nook was half empty and tiny. It wasn't a bad stay, just not impressive.

The rooms were decent and the beds comfortable, and I liked the style, colors, and decor. It's an affordable place close to everything, so it works well if you're in town for a few days. The hotel is a little dated, and this isn't the spot for anyone looking for luxury.
