I stay in hotels every week for work as an airline pilot, and this was the worst one I’ve ever experienced. I usually don’t post reviews, but this deserved one. The room had a bloody towel, a rusty fridge, and wires hanging around the TV. There was no chain or safety lock on the door that opened outside. They charged $115 for the night, and the place felt nasty and deeply uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it even if I were paid to stay there. The front desk did call after we checked in. I mentioned the towel, and she seemed surprised but didn’t offer anything.

The owner called our room after check-in to see if everything was okay, and we really enjoyed chatting with him. The staff were amazing, and we loved staying here. We’ll definitely be back.

The best part was the kind woman who checked me in at the front desk. The room itself was filthy, with hair on the sink and on the supposedly clean towels, trash on the floor, and an old, gross shower curtain. My brother was in another room and found used soap in his shower. The sheets looked clean, and I didn’t find bugs, but the furniture was old, stained, or broken. The building is old and poorly maintained, and I could have overlooked that if it had been clean. For what I paid, it was only a place to sleep, and I won’t stay again. You also need to ask for the Wi-Fi password at check-in because it isn’t in the room.

We’ve stayed in Bandera three times now, and we’ll choose Bandera Lodge from now on. We liked the location, and it really was nice. During Mardi Gras weekend our room was very clean, the beds felt new and were comfortable, and the price was affordable. Nick and the woman who checked us in were both friendly.

We come here four times a year, and the owners are always kind and professional, making sure we have what we need. Our room is clean and gets cleaned every day. It’s family friendly, with a pool and live country music every night, and the kids can dance in the hall. There’s also a bar with pool tables and food, so you don’t have to head out. A Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and a donut shop are within walking distance in the same parking lot. Main Street activities are close by too, including the OST restaurant, Arkey Blues, 11th Street, shopping, and the free Bandera Gunfighters show.
