Best Western Bandera Suites & Saloon

We’d definitely stay again. The King Suite was spacious and clean, and the breakfast buffet was nice. Bars and restaurants are within walking distance, which made the location great. The barn door for the bathroom was cute, but when it closed it bumped into the path to the room exit. Still, that wasn’t enough to take off a star. A very nice place to spend the night.

Dalton at the front desk was awesome, and I liked the lobby and breakfasts. The rooms are large and nice, but there’s no bathroom door and they need more light. Noise travels badly through the connecting doors between rooms, so I had to change rooms. On Mondays and Thursdays the trash pickup starts at 5:15 a.m., with terrible banging and clanging that goes on and on. A hotel should arrange for a later pickup.

The building and furnishings are nice, the location is great for entertainment and food, and the area felt safe. The town is a gem, surrounded by beautiful rustic scenery. But for the nightly price, I expected to be able to turn down the air. The room was hot, and the system kept shutting off and resetting to a higher temperature. I got up several times a night to lower the thermostat as much as it would allow. There’s also very little noise insulation between rooms, so you can hear everything around you.

The staff were great to deal with, and the breakfast bar was pretty decent. It’s a pretty good place to stay, and having the Dollar store next door was handy.
