Country Inn at The Mall

Being able to stay so close made it easy to check on our little boy. We’d just been discharged from the hospital after our first baby was born, and he was in the NICU. We live an hour away, and my sister in law surprised us by booking this hotel. It really felt like a home away from home, warm and cozy throughout. The lobby looked like a cozy home too. The staff were super nice, breakfast was very nice, and everything was close by. Highly recommended, and thank you.

I can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and caring they were. My stepfather had an accident, was hospitalized for almost five weeks, and then passed away. Everyone at the reception desk, in the kitchen, and on the maintenance and cleaning teams showed real concern and was wonderful to us. It was a business trip, definitely not a vacation, and I’d recommend this place to anyone asking where to stay in the Bangor area.

One disappointment: I asked the night before checkout about extending my stay and was quoted the full price, so I booked another local hotel. Then the receipt left under my door on checkout morning showed a promo code price about $60 less. If I’d been offered that rate the night before, I would’ve stayed longer. The hotel itself was very clean, quiet, and conveniently close to many stores. The grounds are beautiful, parking is ample and felt safe, and the beds were comfortable, though I’d bring my own pillow. It was nice to be able to open the windows for cool, fresh air. Breakfast had a great range, including eggs, sausage, ham, waffles, toast, English muffins, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereals, coffee, creamers, fruit, and condiments, with plenty of dining space. Check-in and checkout were easy.

We found parking easily, and the front desk was friendly. The lobby has cozy decor. The room was older, but clean and well maintained. My only issue was the hair dryer, which looked REALLY old and gave off a burning smell continuously when I switched it on. I was scared and turned it off right away.
