Holiday Inn Bangor by IHG

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet, and everything seemed well kept. This is a convenient, friendly choice if you're passing through Bangor. The Holiday Inn is huge, so be ready to walk a lot of hallway to get around. Staff were helpful and made things easy. There's an indoor pool and a decent gym, though I didn't get to use either. The on-site restaurant doesn't offer room service, and I'd give the food around 3 out of 5. The pizza was genuinely good, classic bar-style comfort food. Free airport shuttle and breakfast, too.

The room was clean, but smelled greasy, like someone had been cooking in it. The AC couldn't bring the temperature below 71, so I woke up covered in sweat. This is an old motel that needs a lot of updates. The only plus was the gym next door, though it cost $12 a day. Breakfast isn't included, either. Save your money and get a good breakfast at Dysarts for the same price.

We were traveling with two buses and stayed for two nights. The staff looking after our group were wonderful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best we'd had. The hotel is so large that a few people had trouble finding the hallway that led to breakfast, but everything else about the stay was excellent. Don't hesitate to stay here if you're in the area.

Our room smelled like marijuana, and the place felt more like a motel than a hotel. The room was also very dark, with only a couple of lamps, and the shower backed up so the tub filled even though the drain wasn't plugged. I'm very disappointed. Several weeks before arriving, I called and confirmed that my reservation had been upgraded to a suite because I was traveling with family. The suite appeared on my reservation in the IHG app, and I called again the day before to confirm it. When we arrived, they had given the suite to somebody else and downgraded us to a regular room without telling us until check-in.
