We had a fun stay and enjoyed the New Year's Eve meal. We didn't win anything in the drawings, but it was fun hoping. Ed was such a fine gentleman when we checked in this time and last time, always so nice. Room 206 was very nice and clean, and the cleaning girl was polite and wished us a Happy New Year as we checked out. Thanks for all the great offers, they were too good to pass up. The poker room isn't open every day, but when it is, the mix of fish and semi-pros can make for a fun game. This feels like a New England casino where older people spend their retirement and Social Security money on table games such as 3 card poker and blackjack. It's a place to kill a few hours while you wait for an edible to kick in, but it isn't a serious casino like Vegas. What did you expect in Bangor? I'd wait until 3 pm, when people start getting loaded.

We went to the 99 for dinner, had a couple of drinks each, and then went dancing to Adam Ouelette. We love Adam. After paying, we were about to leave when someone stopped us and said we couldn't come back into the casino because we'd had too much to drink. There were four of us, each had two drinks with dinner, and nobody had anything beforehand. I guess we were having too much fun. The guy wouldn't even let my boyfriend cash in his chips. We'd just wanted a fun night with friends we hadn't seen in a while. That was ridiculous. If you go there planning to have a good time, don't. Don't go.

Hops House 99 was delicious, and the wait staff were super nice. The atmosphere was fun too. We also saw a comedy show in a ballroom, which was nicely set up, and the show was great.

We rented a suite, but it wasn't in great shape and definitely didn't feel luxurious. The bathroom and kitchenette sinks both drained poorly, the rugs needed cleaning, and there was a rip in the wall. They did reimburse us for a quarter of the room cost.
