Being right downtown made it easy to walk to Bar Harbor’s restaurants, shops, and views. The rooms were roomy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and the staff welcomed us with two glasses of champagne. Everyone was so friendly and clearly knew how to make guests feel looked after. Breakfast was included and filling before a day hiking Acadia. We also used the coffee and hot chocolate bar at all hours for a boost before heading back to the park. We can’t recommend this place enough.

The rooms are small, but nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed and a great shower. I also tried the exercise room and sauna. It was too cold for me to use the hot tub, but I would have if the weather had been a few degrees warmer. We were there during a cold spell in Bar Harbor and got a warm welcome from the Acadia Hotel staff. The lobby and bar area have a pleasant feel, and the hotel is well decorated. The continental breakfast was decent. I appreciated the little touches, especially the old-style coffee urn, which suits the place and is available for free around the clock. The popcorn machine was fun, too. We may come back for New Year’s Eve.

Every visit to Bar Harbor, we end up staying here. The location, style, service, and amenities make it feel like home, and the hotel has such a cool vibe. The team always seems to care about making the stay comfortable and memorable. We love it and keep recommending it.

The staff were kind and helpful, especially Nick, and the hotel was very clean. Our first Bar Harbor visit was a good one. It’s a cute boutique place right downtown, so we could walk almost anywhere. We stayed three nights but had paid for four, then left early because heavy rain was forecast for our last day and we were going on to Boston. They couldn’t refund that night, but offered to keep a one-night credit under my name for a future visit. I’d have preferred a refund, though I understand the policy and appreciated the option. Our room was tidy and had a mini fridge, private bathroom, two luggage racks, and a balcony off the king room. It was small, as expected for a boutique hotel. The bed was fine for three nights, though not especially comfortable. I do wish there were more outlets; bedside lamps with plugs would be an easy fix. Breakfast was simple, but appreciated, and there was always coffee.

We liked being greeted personally whenever we walked in, and the staff were wonderful. The hotel also gave us a complimentary wine or beer at the attached bar, which my fiancé and I made good use of. Downtown was new for us, even though we’d been to Bar Harbor twice before, and the central location made it easy to enjoy the town. The bed and pillows were pretty firm, so that may bother you if you’re picky. We also had to figure out the AC unit, though December probably made that more noticeable. We enjoyed our stay and would come back when we’re in Maine again.
