Hampton by Hilton Bar Harbor

The views were incredible and made the stay feel peaceful. The rooms were spotless, crisp, comfortable, and beautifully updated, with everything feeling new and thoughtfully arranged. The whole property was fresh, very clean, and clearly cared for. From the moment I arrived, the front desk team was warm and welcoming, even greeting me with a pleasant Maine welcome that lifted the day. I settled in and didn’t feel like leaving. It’s that good.

We were unsure about booking after seeing the 2 star rating, but we’re glad we chose this place. They said the rating reflects their seasonal operation and limited amenities, though to us this was the nicest Hampton Inn I’ve stayed in. The location was handy for downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and we saw a shuttle that we think went to Bar Harbor, though we didn’t get to use it. Staff were nice. The complimentary breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices and local specialties. Inside, it smelled like blueberries when we walked in. There was also a free drink bar with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and fresh pastries, plus a small market and microwaves. Our clean room had a great view. I’d recommend this hotel 100%.

The hotel was well placed for exploring both downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, each just a short drive away. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety and delicious pastries from a local bakery. A thoughtful touch that made mornings feel special. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

I come back to this Hampton Inn every autumn, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Every room has a view, and the rooms are great. It’s up on a hill, which gives you those views and keeps things quiet, yet downtown Bar Harbor and the Park Loop Road are only minutes away. Walking into town takes about 20 minutes. I’ll be back next year.
