Holiday Inn Resort Bar Harbor - Acadia Natl Park by IHG

The resort has open, inviting grounds with paths that make it easy to walk around and take in the scenery. From the property, you can look out over the water and coastline, and the views feel peaceful and calming. It has a cared-for feel, and being so close to nature makes the stay seem special, like a real escape in Bar Harbor. The staff are kind and welcoming, which adds to the comfort. Holiday Inn Resort is a memorable place to stay when you're visiting the area.

The waterfront setting is beautiful, and the hotel resort is very, very nice. It's transitioning from Regency to Holiday Inn Brand, so some work is underway, but the room and facilities were still very comfortable. The staff seemed generally new, yet they were well hired and trained, and exceptionally courteous. A very good stay.

We left two days early after two employees said things to my partner and me that were completely unacceptable. Nobody offered any consolation, and we were charged an early checkout fee for packing up and leaving. Half the hotel's dining options were closed, and we only found out after we'd checked in, not beforehand. It was a pretty bad experience, and I definitely don't recommend this hotel if you want to walk near the hikes or downtown, or if you don't want to feel uncomfortable somewhere that's meant to be enjoyable.

There's plenty of parking, and the island shuttle bus stops at the hotel. Acadia national Park is close by. The outdoor pool and hot tub have a great ocean view. Downtown is 1.5 miles away, walkable, though driving is better.
