Campus Inn Motel

The room had a dusty cigarette smell. I put car air fresheners around it to try to settle things down, but then we found a pee stain in the sheets, which completely threw off my night. When we told the front desk, they said to air the room out and wait until morning for help. It’s the hotel’s job to make guests feel at home. 0/10, wouldn’t recommend staying here.

For the price, I’d still stay here even if I had $270 for a nicer hotel. We booked two rooms for four days, one king with a spa and one with double queens. Both were clean, and the AC was cold even in 105-degree heat. The spa was nice and the pool was clean. The laundry soap seemed hospital or jail grade, so things felt sanitized, but nothing to write home about. There’s a bit of a slum vibe, though nothing ghetto. The locals were nice, and despite first impressions that made me wonder about drug deals, everything was calm and quiet. I’ve had more trouble at fancy hotels, which also get puke and drunk people. I didn’t see any bugs. There were a few little things: the patio table was dirty, and the toilet rocked because it wasn’t level. It’s close to the dells and half the price. If you’re skipping a park bundle to save money, this could work. People complaining seem entitled and haven’t stayed in a budget inn.

The king room was huge, and it was quiet, with no smells or bugs. It looked like a Florida slum at first, but I was surprised. I’ve had more problems at expensive inns. There might be little, mundane things to complain about. If you’re high-maintenance or prissy, pay twice as much and move on. For a well-traveled person looking to save, this place is worth a look.

We stayed three nights and had a pretty relaxed time in the room. It was clean, with everything stocked and in order, and we didn’t have any real complaints. The cable service could’ve been better: we got most channels, but there was no TV guide. We aren’t much for bars, though there was one downstairs, and the pool looked nice to check out. I’d stay again and recommend it to anyone after a decent room at a fair price.
