Thunderbird Motor Inn Baraboo

The beds are really hard, and there was no phone in the room. The dresser had scratches and holes. I liked that there's a family restaurant, though it closes at 3. There's also a great gas station and grocery store within walking distance, with everything you could need.

I brought my own pillow and sleeping bag, thankfully. I slept on top of the bed and didn't even turn it down. The room smelled of stale pot smoke, and the refrigerator was unplugged, with what looked like a ketchup smear inside the door. Long dark hairs were on the sink counter, in the tub, and on the bed. There were brown specks of some kind of debris on the sheet near the pillows and an old brown stain on it, too. It's clearly an older place, but that doesn't excuse hair everywhere, a dirty unplugged fridge, or visible debris on the sheets.

I would not stay here. After I made the reservation, they doubled the price. The room had flies everywhere, and the smoke alarm wires were hanging out of the wall, with the detector sitting on the dresser. The towels were thin and stained, the lighting was terrible, and there was water damage on the shower ceiling.

The sheets were dirty, the shower had stains, and both the fridge and microwave were dirty. I went to another hotel down the block for the same price, and it was much cleaner.
