Quality Inn

The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable, but I wouldn't stay here again. We killed three roaches in the room, then found more in our things hours after getting home. Now I'm worried our suitcases, clothes, and maybe even our house will need roach treatment. I told the front desk at checkout, and they said the rooms had been sprayed a week earlier. It clearly didn't work well. The floors were filthy too, our bare feet turned black. Next time I'm in the area, I'd sleep in my car.

The traffic from the road was audible from our room, which was on the front side of the building. They had earplugs available, though I slept fine without them. Next time, I'd ask for a room at the back. All the staff I met were extremely friendly, and the pet fee was just $20. We stayed in a spacious, spotless ground floor king room with our dog. It had a fridge and microwave, no carpet, and an exterior door that made potty breaks easy. The bathroom was small, as is common in older motels. The pool didn't look open, but we weren't planning to swim. Breakfast was standard chain quality. It used to be a Best Western and became a Quality Inn in April. I'd definitely stay here again when we're back in the area.

After 13 years of staying here, we'll look outside Barboursville next time. Since it changed from Best Western, the service and value have been disappointing, and it feels like they take advantage of being the only hotel in town. The room itself was clean, but we got only two towels for our three-day stay. We had to go to the front desk each day for more, and each time they gave us just two. Breakfast wasn't edible. There were only two bananas and three apples for guests. The pool was still covered, with slime and growth visible, and broken appliances were being stored in the pool area. When we checked out early for a 10-hour drive, the lobby was closed from midnight until 6 a.m. The person who checked us in was also very hard to understand because of his broken English. Please think carefully before booking this Quality Inn. ..

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and I appreciated having breakfast with protein options. The AC worked, though it made a bit of noise. I was disappointed by the TV technology. I'd stay again.
