Old Bardstown Inn

The room was cleaned to the bare minimum, and service was almost nonexistent. The older man at the front counter was rude, ignorant, and barely helpful. He walked around barefoot and tried to look in windows. When I asked for corporate’s number, he said we couldn’t have his name and that we couldn’t stay there again if we reported him. It’s comical to imagine returning. 0/10, I would never recommend this place.

That blanket on the bed looked like it might have been a curtain. I was also told there'd be a full breakfast, but all they had was fruit and toast. And I thought the place was supposed to be within walking distance of the dinner train ride. It wasn't what I expected.

The rooms were very clean, and the hotel manager was friendly and professional. We paid $88 with tax, and it was about a five-minute drive to town. It's centrally located too, around 15 minutes from Willet, Bardstown, and/or Heaven Hill.

I went to OBI after leaving my first choice because I couldn't manage that place's TV system as a non-tech boomer. I just wanted to watch baseball or football, and the Motor Lodge setup wasn't working for me. OBI had the same price and a really friendly receptionist, who showed me the room and let me try the remote first. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet, with easy access to both old and new parts of town. There are three distilleries nearby, and the level parking lot is close to the rooms. It had everything I needed, and I'd recommend it.
