On the day after the blizzard hit full force, Joe and Julie called around to find restaurants that were open. They found three, offered to pick up whatever we wanted, and even offered their own vehicle if we preferred to drive. We made it to Olive Garden and had a great meal with some lovely people while celebrating our first day of marriage. The room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but they looked after us at the Dolphin Inn just up the road, where we had excellent dessert and coffee while we waited. Joe let us know when the room was ready, then stood at the end of the driveway to guide us back in when we returned. In the morning, fresh coffee and breakfast came to our room. Our honeymoon began with the March 2018 blizzard, and these kind people made it everything we could have hoped for. Beautiful property, amazing folks, and we’ll always be grateful to Joe and Julie.

For a weekend in Barnstable built around whale watching, the Beechwood Inn worked perfectly. This was our second stay there. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast was excellent. If you’re going to Hyannis for a whale watch, I’d recommend staying here.

The people are nice, breakfast is great, and the beds are comfortable. If antiques and ghost stories are your thing, you’ll like this inn.
