Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Barron

We left first thing in the morning. My husband was in so much pain that we drove four hours home through a snowstorm on his birthday, and I wouldn’t stay here again. After sleeping on the hotel bedding, he woke up with one eye swollen completely shut. He was told it could be dust mites or a bacterial infection. He’s 45 and has never had this happen before, even though we stay in hotels at least five times a year. I’d brought my own pillow for myself. I booked a King Deluxe because the website said it had a private entrance, which we needed because of my husband’s health issues. We weren’t local, and when I showed the desk clerk the booking, she laughed, handed me a key to a second-floor room, and laughed again when I asked for a ground-floor room. She said, “That’s not going to happen. It’s hockey time.” We tried to make the best of it and use the room just to sleep. The next morning I asked another worker to have someone call me. She took my name, number, and room number, but nobody called. The first clerk had been rude and dismissive, and seemed to enjoy talking down to guests. The room was tiny, muggy, hot, and smelled bad. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and the toilet hadn’t been flushed. This place needs pest control, a deep clean, and a serious attitude adjustment.
