Home2 Suites by Hilton Barstow

We were very pleased with our stay at the Barstow Home2 Suites. The room was clean, updated, and really nice, and the service was good when we had a few special requests. Breakfast was the usual free hotel kind, nothing bad about it. We’d come back.

There are shops and restaurants a short drive away, and Kaiser hospital in Victorville was within reasonable reach, which was a godsend when I developed a health issue during our stay. The free breakfast had plenty of choice, including healthy options. Our room was spacious and clean, with a kitchenette, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher and supplied detergent, sink disposal, couch, tables, and a big TV. We were very comfortable and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The staff were friendly throughout, and the rooms were very clean with a sleek, modern design. But the advertised kitchens were misleading for what we needed. We bought groceries, then learned we had to call the desk to get a mini burner, and the biggest pot was really just a tiny frying pan. Somehow there was a large pasta colander, but we ended up ordering takeout. Road-facing rooms don’t block much noise, and the AC units are extremely loud too. I had a rough night trying to sleep.

The rooms are great, though the towels feel like sandpaper. You can hear some freeway noise since the hotel is right off it, but it wasn’t too bad. There’s no restaurant, despite what the listing says. Apart from that, I thought it was worth the money.
