Comfort Suites Bastrop

We found this hotel to be very clean and modern for a reasonable price. The room had a sofa, a king bed, and a huge flat-screen TV that adjusted so it was comfortable to watch from either spot. The bed was really comfortable, and the shower was clean with plenty of pressure. We've paid a lot more for a lot less before. The service and value were both great.

I really like this hotel and it has been clean every time my family and I have stayed. I'm giving it three stars in the hope the owner or manager sees this. There has been a gnat floating in the lemon water by the kitchen since yesterday. By this morning, they'd only added ice instead of changing the water. Also, I don't get why the breakfast area is mopped while people are eating, using a strong-smelling cleaner. It smells wonderful, but not when you're having breakfast, and the wet floor is a fall risk even with a sign. Why not mop afterward? I also wonder why this location doesn't serve bacon. Other hotels in Bastrop, and ones I've stayed at elsewhere, often alternate bacon and sausage. It's not a dealbreaker, just odd. I'd still recommend the hotel to people I know.

The room was clean and smelled good, and breakfast was good too. Getting there was a bit tricky: you have to go behind other businesses, off a very busy street and intersection.

Breakfast was pretty disappointing, very basic and nothing special. The blackout curtains also let in more light than I'd like, especially from under the door, and that made it hard to sleep in. Still, the whole place was exceptionally clean and smelled fresh, from the lobby through the rooms. The beds were super comfortable, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. It was a pleasant stay, but next time I might look for somewhere that covers a few more comfort details.
