Hotel At Batavia Downs

The gaming floor was a blast, and the bartender at the gatsby bar had us laughing when we took a short break. I even hit a jackpot, which made the weekend better. This was our second shop-till-you-drop Christmas weekend in Batavia, and our second year staying at Batavia Downs gaming and hotel. It’s always a pleasure. The rooms are clean, check-in staff are so friendly, and the waitresses and food at 34 Rush are always on point. Can’t wait to go back.

The room looked nice, but it was worn down. The chair was torn, and the bathroom was dirty, especially the floor, which clearly needed a good cleaning. Both the front desk staff at check-in and check-out were rude. When I complained, I was told the hotel isn’t owned by the casino, so I shouldn’t complain to them. Very disappointing. I won’t be back.

We won big, so getting the room was a nice bonus. It was clean and comfortable. What a night!

There was a loud, out-of-control party in one of the suites that went on all night. People on our floor were still talking about it at breakfast. We also found the room just OK, with only a desk chair and no other chair to sit in. Though the staff were very nice and as helpful as they could be, the layout is ridiculously spread out, even from the hotel desk, never mind the casino floor. We requested an accessible room, but it was on the top floor, near the far end. Getting there from valet parking meant two separate elevators and a ten-minute walk, so it was hardly accessible. Going back and forth between the room and casino floor, which we like to do overnight, wasn’t feasible. The price and experience didn’t make up for the hassle, so we won’t book here again.
