Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge Downtown

We came to Baton Rouge for the Louisiana Marathon, and the hotel’s location worked perfectly. It was clean and very nice, and breakfast was very good. The only problem was that the ice machines on the floors didn’t work. The whole staff was great, especially Willamena, the breakfast attendant. She was friendly and helpful with the kids, kept the area clean, and made sure the food was restocked. She made breakfast pleasant and almost stress-free for both days.

My one-night stay was enjoyable once I got checked in. I arrived at Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge Downtown around 6:30 p.m., but Hilton’s system was down, so neither desk check-in nor the app’s digital check-in worked. Shayla and Ava at the front desk stayed patient, calm, and professional with guests who were understandably upset. They did everything they could, even starting a manual check-in process so people could get rooms if the system stayed down. It came back shortly after they began, and I got checked in after about an hour and a half. They also checked whether a sister hotel had space in case people needed somewhere else to stay. Their care and initiative really stood out. Big thanks to Shayla and Ava for handling a difficult situation so well.

We come back because of the location and the woman who works in the dining area. During a busy morning, she kindly helped my kids make waffles and stayed professional and generous throughout.

The breakfast area staff were amazing, especially the personable, sweet woman working there. I also got a few texts checking in during my stay. When I asked by text for towels to be put in the room while we were out, I was told housekeeping would do it, but they didn’t, so I went downstairs to get some myself. I had a great Thanksgiving stay and would come back. The location was perfect for what I needed, and there was plenty of parking any time, day or night, though it cost $25 a day. There’s also a garage across the street for $15 per day. The room could have been a little cleaner, though I know housekeeping can get overwhelmed. My only other complaint was that the water never got hot, just warm, and I like hot showers.
