I was in Baton Rouge for an LSU game, and it was easy to get settled because my room was ready before I arrived. The room was clean and comfortable, and food and shopping were close by, so we didn't have to go far to eat. I was traveling with my pet and was surprised to find a welcome bag for them. As a Hilton Honors member, I appreciated getting one too. Those little touches made me feel valued. The whole hotel had a warm, inviting feel, and check-in was quick and simple. Lasandra H., General Manager, and Grandison (Mr. G) were especially welcoming, professional, and thoughtful. The staff made me feel catered to throughout the visit. This is exactly how hotels should treat guests. I'd absolutely stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Baton Rouge again, and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and genuine hospitality.

The staff were so nice, and they suggested different places to eat nearby, including some within walking distance. My room was spacious and worked well for me, and I enjoyed the amenities. The pool was the icing on the cake. This was my first time at a Home2Suites by Hilton, and the service was better than I expected. Travel and restaurant service has often been mediocre for me, but this stay changed my mind about people. Home2Suites Siegen Lane is now my favorite hotel brand. I wish I'd known about it sooner, and I'll definitely return to this location.

I found dead roaches in my room, and I later discovered I'd brought some back to Texas. I have never had roaches in my life. The hotel was under construction, and the tiles hurt my foot as well. I asked the hotel to address the problem, but they haven't responded. Hilton Worldwide customer service hasn't replied either, and they've been dismissive and unapologetic. I would not recommend this hotel.

After we left, I emailed the General Manager politely about what happened and asked the front desk to pass along a message. I never got a reply or a phone call. A hotel can make a mistake, but ignoring guests afterward and offering no response at all is unacceptable for a brand at this level. The lack of professionalism and follow-up means I can't recommend this hotel. At check-in, on Christmas, we were clearly told checkout was at 12:00 PM. The next morning, shortly before 11:00 AM, someone called insisting that checkout was 11:00 and that we had to leave immediately. We explained what the front desk had told us, but the manager wouldn't acknowledge the mistake or let us stay until 12:00, even though it was the hotel's miscommunication. Shortly afterward, while we were already leaving, a morning manager came to our room in an aggressive way and seemed intent on forcing us out.

The rooms are nice and spacious, the location is great, and the staff are friendly. But construction was going on all day, starting at 6:30 a.m. and continuing until around 7 p.m. We got no warning when we arrived, and the noise woke us up early. There was no chance to sleep in. I'm not sure how long the work will last. Maybe it'll be fine months from now, but I wouldn't recommend staying here in the next week or two. I wish they'd limit construction to more reasonable hours, like 9 to 5 instead of starting at 6 in the morning. If you have kids like I do, skip this one. I'd give more stars if the construction weren't so intense.
