Quality Inn Baton Rouge East I-12

My husband has asthma and needed his inhaler less than a minute after entering the room, so we couldn't stay. The rooms smelled strongly of smoke, the bathrooms were somewhat dirty, and there was no TV. The property was in total disrepair, with peeling paint, and the divider door between our room and the next one had no deadbolt, so anyone could have walked in. There was no front desk service or management on site. Truly awful.

The room smelled old, and there were dead roaches in the picture hanging on the wall. When we went to get more pillows and towels that evening, the front doors were all locked. They had closed for the night without telling us we could go next door to Holiday inn if we needed anything. We tried the room phone, but it didn't work, and the number we called from a cell was disconnected. At check-in, the desk told us there was no cable or regular TV because the old owners had shut it off during a payout and the new owners weren't ready yet. She offered to let us cancel, but I figured we didn't need a TV and stayed. I've been to plenty of Quailty inn locations, and this one was trash. Hopefully the new owners step up soon.

I booked three months ahead through Booking.com and bought insurance, which felt like a rip-off. The insurance won't pay, and after three weeks Booking.com was still giving me the runaround, saying they needed to hear back from the property owner. Good luck with that: there's no phone for anyone to answer and no internet for them to read emails. I'll never use booking.com again. The hotel had no cable, internet, or TVs in the room, and no fire extinguishers inside or outside. Some rooms were boarded up and the pool was falling apart. We did not stay, and neither should you.

The room didn't look anything like the website pictures, and the fridge and microwave were broken. The sink had lipstick all over it. At check-in, the man was unprofessional, and there was no WiFi or cable. Luckily, we had electronics to keep us busy. All the noise in the parking lot made it seem like they were selling drugs there. I'll never come back.
