Trident Inn & Suites, Baton Rouge

I paid for two nights but only stayed one, it was that bad. The elevator was out, so I had to take the stairs to the third floor. The stairwell badly needed cleaning, had damaged steps, and writing on the walls. The hallway smelled of smoke and body odor. The room was spacious but horrid and unclean, not just run down. There was a partly used soap bar on the shower wall, a hard plastic straw on the floor, a sticky floor, and a remote that didn’t work, just to name a few things. There wasn’t any coffee in the morning either.

The property is filthy, and the rooms look nothing like the pictures used in the ads or the reviews. The elevator didn’t work, and our rooms were on the top floor, level 3. They said they’d refund the deposit, but didn’t. Things in the room didn’t work, including the outlets, most of the lights, and the hair dryer. I can’t say enough, don’t stay here. It isn’t worth it, even at the cheap prices.

We knew from the start that something felt off here. I even saw two rats go under someone else’s room and wanted to knock to warn them. We never got our deposit back. This place is horrifying and needs to be shut down. The Shades is 100% better.

The place smelled awful, and my supposedly non-smoking room reeked like someone had smoked in it for a week. There’s no elevator, and nobody warned us it wasn’t working, even though reviews from three months earlier mentioned the same problem. Be ready to carry all your belongings. You can’t book by calling someone at the hotel, only through third-party sites. Horrific. Save your money. This place should be condemned.
