The hostess was a pleasure, and she even made us gluten-free blueberry danish. My bicycling companions and I spent two nights at Rose Cottage at the end of February. With three of us each having a room, we had the house to ourselves, so we could share the living areas and still have our own bedrooms. We loved seeing all the antiques and learning about the area’s history. The house reminded me of my grandparents' place in Washington state, which made me feel right at home. We were so glad we chose this instead of the hotel in town.

The quiet, safe neighborhood made me feel comfortable traveling alone, and the stay was restful and lovely. The cottage inn feels like a little museum. I enjoyed breakfast coffee in the beautiful front bay, with a fresh strawberry yogurt parfait and a yummy blueberry muffin. Nearby songbirds were perched at the feeders, and I could watch and listen to them.

We were doing Route 66, and staying here was a wonderful chance to spend time in Kansas. The place feels just like home, the welcome and service are extraordinary, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Just love it, stay if you get the chance!

The antiques are gorgeous, the setting is beautiful, and the hostess is awesome. It’s a quiet neighborhood and a great place for caretakers to rest and recharge. I’m planning to make this my regular spot to recuperate. Love this place. Thanks Jane, your place is terrific!

This place is a real treasure if you need to get away and relax. I don’t usually review places, but I had to write about this one. It was perfect for some much-needed time to myself and a chance to focus on getting some writing down on paper. I’d give it ten stars if Google weren’t so stingy.
