The room was spacious and comfortable, with fresh linens, a clean workspace, and plenty of room. I stayed at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Baxter, MN for a weekend trip. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk explained breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. The place felt safe and well-maintained, and they answered my questions promptly.

The hotel didn't feel unsafe, so I can't give it a 1, but it really came across as doing as little as possible while hoping people would keep staying. The breakfast was mostly good, though the cooked eggs, not the boiled ones, were like egg jerky. The business center printer didn't work, and the desk clerk said it hadn't for quite some time. In my room, Wi-Fi dropped every 5-10 minutes, making reconnecting a complete waste of time. People sat in the middle stairwell for much of the day, blocking others coming and going, and people stood smoking around the middle south-side door. The snack vending machine had no card reader. That's not specifically the hotel's responsibility, but it still added to the outdated, rundown feel and the low expectations set by ownership.

The staff gave us a warm welcome, explained services like parking and breakfast, and responded quickly to our small requests. The property felt safe.
