Studio 6 Bay City, TX

Calling this a hidden gem would be way off. It’s one of the cheapest places for a reason, and the conditions are so bad that some homeless people live better. This was an awful choice, about as real a roach motel as it gets.

I booked at the last minute and was glad the room was so affordable. The staff were helpful and friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. At Studio 6 in Bay City, TX, I found a very clean room and a super comfortable bed, just what I needed after a long day. I had a great stay and will return next time I’m in town.

We stayed for two nights because of AC problems at home, and I’d come back if I needed to. The room was large and clean enough, and I was surprised it had a kitchenette. I had no issues during my stay, and the man at the front desk was personable and very kind. 10/10, would recommend! 👍🏼

I booked and paid online two weeks ahead for a room that wasn’t available when I arrived for a 12-night work stay. They put me in a lower-grade room and offered nothing to refund the difference or make up for the inconvenience. The upstairs room was filthy, so I bought a broom, mop, and cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself. Housekeeping came only once during all 12 days. Roaches were a serious problem, big and small, even living in the microwave where I made my food. The sheets had cigarette burns, and the TV didn’t work, so I watched movies on my laptop. Nearly $1,300 for that was sad. I’d give this place no stars if I could.
