Bay View Inn

We were trying to reach our hotel when our car got stuck. The security guard on duty called the police and harassed us instead of offering help or basic courtesy. We weren't causing trouble, just trying to sort out a minor problem and get where we were going. The response felt hostile and unnecessary, and turned an embarrassing situation into a stressful ordeal. Very disappointing. Management should look at how security staff are trained to deal with the public.

The staff were welcoming, attentive, and knew their jobs. We stayed in the Aster Suite King Bay View Room, and the in-room Jacuzzi was a highlight. The Inn's details suited its historic character, and the place is right on the water. It was our first Stafford's stay, during our fifth stop on a trip around Lake Michigan. We were there on September 6 2025, and it's a great option in the Petoskey area.

Carrie made the rehearsal and wedding day run so well, and even recorded our ceremony from the balcony. Jill was our contact beforehand, and she was incredibly responsive and thorough. We had planned to move the ceremony indoors if it rained, but the sun came out at the last minute and we managed to dry the chairs in time. The kindness, flexibility, and beautiful setting meant a lot to both our families. The venue was also very reasonably priced, especially from a teacher's perspective, and we felt we got more than we paid for. We held our ceremony at the Bay View Inn on October 18th. We're excited to return and stay in the gorgeous rooms. I've planned enough events for a lifetime ;)

The fall package came with breakfast and shopping dollars for Petoskey, and we loved sitting outside on the porch with the bay views. The staff were so friendly. Though it's an old historic property, everything was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Daily maid service, too. Absolutely fabulous stay!
