Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Port Richey

We arrived around 4:30 p.m. on May 8, 2026, and saw police at the Days Inn property. Once we got into the rooms, we found bugs in the beds, so they didn't feel clean or suitable for our family. We canceled our three-night stay because of the room conditions and our safety concerns, but management still refused to refund the first night's charge. Management also told us that some guests were placed there by charities, including homeless people living at the property longer term. We understand people may need temporary housing, but together with the police presence and the rooms' condition, this made us more uneasy about the hotel's safety, cleanliness, and atmosphere. We'll contact the Pasco County Health Department to report what we found and ask them to review the property.

The room was okay for the price, but I never really felt safe, the shower water didn't get hot, and I wouldn't sit on the couch. I won't stay here again. The front desk attendant was friendly when I checked in around 5:30 p.m. They explained there was a $100 damage deposit, either charged to my card and returned in about three days or paid in cash and refunded at checkout. I chose cash and said I'd be leaving early the next morning. They said that was fine. But when I checked out shortly after 6 a.m. with my receipt, they told me I had to wait until 11 for the refund. Eventually they made an exception and returned it. Guests leave at different times, and some may need to catch a plane. This place feels like it's run by amateurs.

I booked through a third-party site for my employees to stay a week, and had to move them elsewhere, losing about $1,200. The place felt dirty and run-down, nothing like the misleading photos and online listing. There were many long-term residents, people lingering around the property, and an unsafe, uncomfortable atmosphere. There also seemed to be a lot of drug and alcohol activity nearby. It wasn't suitable for housing employees, and I wouldn't recommend it for business travel or anyone wanting clean, safe, professional lodging.

I called the front desk in the morning with a question and got put on hold for more than five minutes. I hung up, tried five more times, and nobody answered. Not good service. The room itself was gross. The floor was so dirty I wore shoes the whole time, and there was mold on the window curtain, as shown in my attached picture. The drywall looked hideous and cheaply done. The walls are paper thin, so you hear everything from the upstairs neighbor.
