Bays Inn Suites Baytown

It was quiet here, and the staff were very nice and helpful, but the price felt high for the room. It’s outdated and musty, though it appeared clean. Fresh paint, new carpet, updated bedspreads and curtains, plus cleaned A/C filters, could make this place a lot better. Spending money on updates and advertising them might bring more guests. I never get sick, but before I left, my nose was running and I’d started sneezing. Now that I’m home, I have a full-blown cold. I even sprayed disinfectant in the room. This needs a proper cleaning, not just the beds remade.

I liked how quiet and inexpensive the stay was, and I’d recommend it. The staff were really nice, and there was free coffee and a light breakfast. Free high-speed WiFi had a strong connection without hassle, and HBO was included. There’s also a small but efficient workout area, plus a pool and grilling space. There’s not much here to keep kids busy, so it may not suit families. There wasn’t a safe in the room either. The property is a little older, but not too outdated, though you can tell some older fixtures were updated. No shady people or creeps around.

The room looked worn, but was cleaner and better cared for than I expected, and the bathroom had supplies. People across the hall played extremely loud music, though I guess that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. What was there, including the amenities, seemed in line with the price.

The room was spacious, with a view of the pool, though the giant oil refinery behind the hotel spoiled the view. It was decorated like 1972, apart from the TV, and the bathroom was iffy. There was a very strong smell of some kind of chemical or cleaner. The hotel was decent overall, in a town that’s pretty lousy to stay in, though not because of crime. Access was a little odd since it sits off a road parallel to the highway. The entrance looked nice, and the staff were very friendly. The man at the desk even gave me a sheet listing local restaurants and places, and suggested a Mexican restaurant down the street.
