Scottish Inn and Suites Extended Stay Baytown

I manage fiber optic crews around Texas and travel for work, so I’ve stayed in plenty of overpriced hotels. Finding this place felt like hitting the jackpot. It’s family owned and operated, and you can see they take pride in keeping the property well maintained and super clean. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and bug free. The staff are welcoming, and the amenities are well worth the money. There are many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance, plus easy highway access. You get a lot for your money, and I’ll absolutely stay here again when I’m in the area.

The rooms were dirty, the blankets smelled and had cigarette holes, the sheets were stained, and the walls were grimy. The microwave and refrigerator were left dirty by previous occupants. There were roaches, and the old AC had no ventilation when we cooked. The shower head gushed water every time we used it. Each time we flushed, urine came out from the toilet. Management just put down towels and didn’t offer us another room, even though we’d paid for a week. On our first night, staff had a party by the pool until around 11, with loud music, shouting, and their cars filling the parking lot. Maids didn’t come to clean, and when they did, they came right in without knocking. They also let the maids steal guests’ property. This place is a joke.

The price was a phenomenal deal, and the hotel was very clean with an updated interior. Someone had broken the mirror, but that was literally the only thing wrong in the room. They have grab-and-go breakfast with juice and coffee, plus complimentary bottles of water. The two front desk people I spoke with were great. I’d definitely stay again.

It’s okay for a one-night stop, about what you’d expect for the price. The beds are hard and the pillows are flat.
