Back Bay Inn

The location worked well, with plenty of parking and a cafe just a few feet away for coffee and breakfast. My room was clean and cozy, with a gorgeous view straight out to the bay. I loved staying here. And don’t forget a selfie with the local iconic bearcow, or cowbear? Lol.

The ADA setup was very well done. My friend stayed in the ADA room while the rest of us had a regular one, and she was really impressed. Having a shower chair there for her was a wonderful touch. We had a wonderful time, and the property went out of its way to make our stay special. The staff were warm and friendly, and the place itself is gorgeous. Watching the sun come up in the morning was unreal. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Stay here, you won’t regret it :)

The Loft was a favorite for me, especially having a proper kitchen and a PORCH! My wife likes the balcony view from the South wing best. We’ve stayed in several different rooms, and each has its own appeal. It’s such a peaceful, scenic property, with inviting gardens and a glass smooth bay looking West. One of my favorite places to stay on the Central Coast.

This was our second trip here, and with the cooler weather, breeze, and a little fog, we were glad the spot was sheltered. Last time we gathered on the lawn. This time, during happy hour, we sat in the deck area with its glass surround to block the wind. You can hear a band in the distance there, pleasantly, without it getting overwhelming or loud. The Adirondack chairs face the water, and the setting is beautiful and serene. We had 10 friends across 5 rooms for a little two-night birthday getaway. We had room 5 facing the bay, which I highly recommend. The website doesn’t mention it, but there’s a little happy hour with wine in the room, two or three whites and three reds, plus pretzels or Asian rice crackers. There’s an adjacent restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Last time we ate outside with heaters, but this visit we chose indoors by a fireplace. There’s free parking, plenty to do and see nearby, other restaurants close by, and a farmers’ market across the street on Sundays. One drawback is the office isn’t open all the time, and you have to go there to get ice. Still, it’s a lovely place to stay.
