Sea Pines Resort

The marketing and advertising felt misleading. This isn’t a resort, barely even a motel, and the old rooms had spider webs everywhere. There aren’t really any amenities apart from an old, smelly hot tub. Definitely not worth the price or rating, tbh.

The menu regularly lists several Alaskan Halibut dishes, including grilled fish and fish and chips, and it’s the main fish promoted both online and in house. They DID NOT have Alaskan halibut and offered a lower grade hallock instead. False advertising.

We played nine holes on an overcast 65 degree day and still got a beautiful view of the bay, with Morro Bay in the distance. The course was nice and the fairways were pretty well maintained. The staff were helpful and very nice. After golf, we had a beer at the bar, where the atmosphere was lively and friendly. This is a terrific, low key, down to earth place to play golf and relax afterward. We have family living locally near Sea Pines, so it’s a great spot to get away for a few hours. We’ll be back, and I suggest checking it out if you’re staying nearby.

The staff were all really kind and helpful, and we liked the private jacuzzi and sun lounger area. Scheduling our time slots was easy. We also played golf one day: nice carts, fairways and greens that were decently well kept, few other players on a Monday afternoon, beautiful views, and some unexpected wildlife sightings. We stayed for a long weekend in a two-room king suite. The bedroom and living room were large and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and looked very clean, and the shower and bathroom were very clean too. A few room details need updating. The mini fridge freezer didn’t really freeze things, there were mystery stains on the couch and a couple on the bedroom carpet, though it was otherwise clean and vacuumed. The shutters were nice, but didn’t block enough morning light coming through the bedroom sliding glass door. It was a comfortable stay overall, and we’d likely return despite those minor issues.
