DoubleTree by Hilton Cleveland East Beachwood

We only stayed one night, but were happy with it. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked. The water drained slowly, probably because the building is old, but it was manageable. We didn’t try the amenities, though the pool looked really cool. We arrived around 9ish and found a line at the desk. Stanley, the front desk manager, was friendly and courteous with everyone and handled several things at once really well.

Breakfast was crowded, it took a long time to get seated, and by then the food was cold. The rooms also could have been cleaned better. Some people had plumbing problems, and another room didn’t have the bed size requested. Several of our members waited until after 6p to get their rooms because they weren’t ready and there weren’t enough staff. We arrived about half an hour early and started lining up at 2:45p. There were three family reunions, our church group, and other guests, but just one cashier at check-in. The hotel clearly wasn’t prepared. I emailed a complaint and got a mechanical response.

We arrived really late and thought we might have lost our reservation, but Camille was friendly, sweet, and got us sorted out. The room was clean, big, and comfortable, and the hotel itself was beautifully designed and clean. There were coffee shops nearby, and the Rock and Roll hall of fame was about 15 minutes away. Great service and the style of the place made our stay.

The staff were wonderful, and there’s a lot to like here for an event or meeting. The indoor and outdoor pools connect, are well kept, and are great. The restaurant has a very good breakfast buffet, and the bar and lounge are nice for the evening. The room was clean and pleasant, though clearly worn, and the bathroom was clean enough but not spotless. The whole hotel is nice and well kept, but it’s obviously getting close to needing a full remodel. Still a fine place to stay.
