We were treated so disrespectfully. The owner yelled at us from her porch and said she was going to call the sheriff because our dogs were stretching their legs and going to the bathroom. We always clean up after them. I don't recommend this place.

The only thing that really bothered me was being charged extra for sheets and towels. I've never had that added cost at an air bnb before. The host was friendly, and the lodge was completely empty while we were there. The rooms could be improved and the house could be cleaner, though we still had fun. It's a good location, minutes from Bear Valley and Alpine lake, and works well if you want to be isolated. There's nothing nearby, so bring everything you'll need.

The location is great, and the innkeepers work hard, but there was very little value for the high price. The Chalet was cramped and crowded, with lumpy beds and worn sheets. We had to sterilize the dishes before using them, the shower had pink mold, and the floors were dirty when we arrived. The mismatched decor looked like an early garage sale, and bags of garbage stayed outside for our two days there. In the room next door, the fridge and microwave were out in the hall. I wouldn't recommend it. Stay at the Village of Bear Valley instead.

We'd reserved a rent a tent through hipcamp, but with snow still on the ground, the tents hadn't been set up. When we called, they offered us a room for the same price, which worked out well. We hadn't realized the bathrooms were shared, but they were very clean. The hardworking innkeepers went out of their way to help. A great place to stay in Bear Valley, highly recommended.

We found the owners friendly and knowledgeable, and they had helpful ideas for things to do and places to go. The Lodge is comfortable, casual, and good value, whether you're traveling with family, as a couple, with friends, or on your own. It's well placed for winter sports, close to downhill and cross-country skiing at Bear Valley, and works well for summer visits too. Highly recommended.
