Coldbrook Bed and Breakfast

We really loved the self-serve pantry. It was arranged so thoughtfully, and there was plenty to make a good breakfast or grab a light snack and eat outside by the forest. It’s really set up for breakfast and lighter snacking, so bringing lots of groceries or refrigerated food could take away from the experience for other guests. The woods outside were such a lovely thing to wake up to, and the whole place is beautifully designed. The bed was so comfortable that we even looked up where it came from. We met Kim, the owner, who designed the hotel herself as an architect. She was warm and helpful. Hope I get another visit in before this place is discovered by everyone!

Kim was kind enough to help when I had some trouble getting our room booked, and we had a wonderful stay for our son's wedding. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had what we needed for breakfast.

For a weekend away as a couple, this place was just right, and it’s only a few minutes by car from downtown Woodstock. Kim, the owner, gave us good restaurant suggestions and ideas for things to do nearby. The house matched the pictures, with big windows, a king bed, a roomy closet, and a nice bathroom and shower. It made for an amazing weekend, and we’ll definitely come back. If snow’s in the forecast, bring an all-wheel-drive car.

Kim designed Coldbrook, and the building has a lovely mix of a woodsy home feel and a luxury hotel. The big window looks out on an incredible view, and the property itself is beautiful and relaxing, with an excellent food selection. We came with our dog and 1-year-old, and everyone was comfortable and had a great time. Our arrival started with a mix-up: our host was surprised to see us because Expedia had booked us for the following weekend. Kim was very cool about it and moved us into a vacant room. I’m tempted to rate the place one star so it won’t be booked up next time I’m in town, but I won’t. I can’t recommend it enough.
