The room had such a strong chemical or insecticide smell that it gave me a headache lasting all night after only a short time inside. It was really uncomfortable. The toilet barely flushed, and after we told the front desk, someone was supposedly going to check it, but nobody came. Staff seemed indifferent and didn’t seem interested in sorting things out. We also got locked out twice because the door lock was faulty. Later we found out the guests next door had the same problem. Sound carried badly, too. We could hear normal conversation and even light footsteps from upstairs or next door. Breakfast was all food that needed reheating, but there were no containers or proper equipment to heat it. The place was much farther from Death Valley than I expected, which was disappointing on its own. For the price, the stay was frustrating and didn’t feel worth it.

The rooms were still clean and comfortable, and we’d stay here again, though they seemed more worn than on our last visit and could use some maintenance. The price is really reasonable, and the motel is in Beatty, NV, just outside Death Valley. There aren’t many places this close to the park. The parking lot is well lit and the rooms felt secure enough for us to feel safe. If you’re heading into Death Valley, Rhyolite is a fun little side trip off the main road. It’s an old mining town with some really interesting features.

The rooms were cleaner and more modern than I expected from a place listed as two stars. I’d put it closer to three. Comfortable beds, a big modern TV, and the room felt like a Hampton Inn. There’s nice landscaping, and, well, breakfast exists. It’s reasonably close to Death Valley, about 10 minutes to the edge and 50 minutes to the visitor center.

The rooms were clean, and breakfast was pretty good. It was a great distance from the national park, too. On one morning’s drive in, we even saw “wild mules.” I’d stay here again if I came back to the park.

The biggest downside was that most of the restaurants in town weren’t open on Mondays or Tuesdays. Still, this was a good distance from the park, and the drive into Death Valley was beautiful. The rooms were pretty clean, and breakfast, which was included, was more than I expected. For the price, I’d definitely stay again.
