Extended Stay America Select Suites - Beaumont

The staff were the best part, and the location is close to the interstate. Cleanliness around the property was hit or miss. It feels like the place was bought and rebranded without a remodel or deep clean, and the third floor smelled like cigarettes. My room was okay, but the shower pressure was almost nonexistent and the water only lukewarm. Taking a shower was depressing.

The room and location were satisfactory, though the TV didn't work. The customer service was another story. At check-in, the clerk asked for my email for WiFi. I said that seemed unusual, and she immediately told me they'd remove my WiFi instead. I could live with that, even though it felt unprofessional. I had booked and paid through Priceline, but the clerk said that payment was only a pending hold and that I had to pay again. After nearly an hour on the phone with Priceline, I confirmed I shouldn't have to pay the hotel a second time. I went back to the desk for a receipt for that second payment so I could file a claim with Priceline, and explained I'd spent an hour trying to sort out her mistake. She was defensive and said it wasn't her fault. There was no apology. My bank statement now shows three charges for the same one-night reservation: one from Priceline and two from the hotel. A stay that should have cost $63.98 has ballooned to $188. I won't return.

The rooms are comfortable and pretty quiet. Some situations have come up, but the staff, including the manager or whoever handled them, did so with dignity and care, and I want to thank them for that. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone willing to stay for a longer period.

The staff were friendly and welcoming the whole time I was here, February 3rd-9th. I had a wonderful stay. My job moved me to another location, but I’ll definitely come back in the future.
