Fairfield Inn & Suites Beaumont

The staff and management are what make this the best hotel in Beaumont, by far. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels for work and haven’t found a better team. Breakfast is pretty good, and it’s about 10 minutes from the port and downtown. There are some homeless people nearby, but it’s never been an issue. If I come back to Beaumont, I’ll stay here again.

I stayed one night on 11/28/25, but the property charged me $262 after I had already left. I had booked using my employee Explorer discount. When the front desk associate said the discount on file was outdated, I asked to update it. She said no, and that I had to pay the full amount or leave. In my opinion, the room wasn't up to standard for that price, so I left. The following day, around 4:00 PM, after the next check-in time had already passed, I was charged for another full day even though I was no longer there. I can see several attempts to run the transaction, which doesn't look like a simple mistake to me. It looks intentional and retaliatory. I have Navy Federal, and they're already facing lawsuits over not returning fraudulent and disputed transactions. I documented every attempt to charge my card for different amounts until the $262 finally went through. Whether my bank returns it or not, I'm not done. This charge was unauthorized and unjustified, and I believe it was fraudulent. This matter isn't over. The woman I believe did this was wearing dirty clothes and bad makeup, and appeared to have open wounds or scars over her face and mouth. I found her very unprofessional. I wouldn't have her working at my front desk representing my company.

It wasn't the best Marriott property around, but it was all that was available at the time for the price. The hotel felt old and smelled moldy. My room was only partly clean, not thoroughly cleaned.

I’ve stayed at plenty of Marriott properties over the years, and this was by far my most disappointing visit. In the first room, I pulled back the covers and found spiders in the bed. There was also hair on the second queen bed. I took photos. The night clerk was kind and quickly helped me get another room, but that one wasn't much better. The carpet was visibly dirty, there was dust and debris under the mattress, and there was more hair. In the bathroom, dust, debris, and hair had been swept into the corners instead of being properly cleaned. This level of cleanliness is far below the standard I’ve consistently experienced at other Marriott properties, and it's unacceptable for a Marriott. I hope the feedback helps address housekeeping here so future guests don't run into the same problems.
