I found more roaches under the table after spotting a large one on its back by the door. I kicked it outside, though it was still alive, and tried to ignore it because I badly needed sleep. Then I noticed extra dishes in the bathroom, a brown mark on the toilet seat, and no proper lock on the door. The place felt filthy and neglected, and it wasn’t even a good deal. I went to the desk to say I was leaving, but they said there were no refunds and offered to move me to another room. I should have paid attention to all the forms about room conditions during check-in. Thankfully, I had booked through Hotels.com, and they got my money refunded.

Being pet-friendly was a nice extra for our trip. We also had plenty of parking, a refreshing pool, and friendly staff. The front desk team were especially helpful and made us feel welcome right away.

I expected a queen bed after booking a room with two queens, but at check-in the desk told me every bed there was the same full size. They didn’t have any larger beds, so my wife and I had to share a full. It was uncomfortable and disappointing. Be careful when booking, since the room information gave the wrong impression.

I booked online from Pensacola, drove over, and checked in, but the photos on the site didn’t match what I found. I walked in and left immediately. The fridge was rusted, I had to kick the door with my key to open it, the curtains were covered in mold, and the AC buttons had been ripped off. The bathroom was so disgusting I couldn’t even consider taking a shower. This was a dirty motel, not a hotel, and I felt the listing was misleading. I booked another room at a real hotel and told the staff this was unacceptable. They refused to check me out through the Choice network, saying the GC had to approve it. Then they held the charge for three days and told corporate I had stayed, so they wouldn’t refund me, even though I had proof and timestamps showing I checked in and left to go elsewhere. I wasn’t there five minutes. They shouldn’t be allowed to operate under the Choice banner.
