Birch Hill Suites Dayton - WP AFB

The room itself had no bedbugs when I checked carefully, and I didn't see any cockroaches in it. I did spot one crawl into a third-floor storage room after it flew through the elevator lobby. The lobby also smelled strongly of weed when I came in. For a badly run-down hotel, the staff had kept things as clean as they could: the white sheets and towels were immaculate, the worn floors were clean, and the bathroom was clean too, though the tub had discoloration that wouldn't come off. The fridge, microwave, and stovetop worked fine, and enough of the outlets worked, even if some didn't. The Google rating here may be skewed by one of the pictures I'm posting, so keep that in mind.

I've been here about a month for a long-term stay, and it already feels like home. The guests and staff are all really nice, with a neighborly feel. People on staff have been helpful with every question I've brought them, and if they don't know the answer, they help me find it. I never feel like I'm bothering them. That was true even before I became a customer, and they asked which of the three floors I preferred. When I first arrived, my room was ready and clean, so they let me check in well before the usual time. That helped a lot with my move. The room was immaculate, and the whole property is kept clean. I often see someone cleaning or signs that they've just been through. There's plenty of space in the room, and I think a few more drawers will make it work well for me. What I like most is not feeling like just another number. It feels like being a guest in someone's home, which is a real relief. One small wish: it would help if the laundry and vending machines took cards, or if there were a change machine. Finding quarters has been a little tough for me.

I called and they had a room ready for me that night. Birch Hill Suites has clean, roomy rooms and bathrooms, with kitchenettes and TVs, plus coin laundry on site. It's set back from the road and felt safe, while still being close to stores and the Beavercreek mall hub. The staff are really friendly and willing to work with guests who work with them. 10/10, I'd recommend it.

The room had no pots, utensils, or dishes, though when I asked the front desk they gave me two dishes. Service was okay. I did see one cockroach crawling on the room floor. The white sheets and towels were spotless, and while the floors were chewed up, they were clean. The bathroom was clean too, but there were spots on the shower and tub walls near the ceiling. The fridge, microwave, and stovetop all worked fine.
