We arrived around 2 a.m. after a long day on the road, and the woman checking us in was honest that the hotel was under construction. The entrance looked rough, with old carpet, dingy floors, and a shaky elevator. But upstairs on the third floor it felt like a completely new place. The room was modern, the beds were very comfortable with soft pillows, and the shower had great pressure. No tub, which was fine with me. Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. It's a hidden gem while the work is going on. I hope the bad reviews and people judging by the outside don't hurt the place before the remodeling is done. A good lesson for me.

There was just one person handling the front desk and helping with breakfast, so we had to wait while she restocked things. They need more staff, though it wasn't her fault. The room itself was lovely, with comfortable beds and a fantastic shower and bathroom. It smelled of fresh wood and new paint after the remodeling.

The evening employee was sweet and friendly, and I got a good price, but I wouldn't stay again. People upstairs were awake at 3, and I could hear footsteps and the bed creaking. The room also wasn't as clean as I'd like. Sheets were wrinkled, pillows too thin, and the towels were worn out and very thin.

We got in late and check-in was quick and easy. The bed felt comfortable, but I was uneasy sleeping in it after seeing how poorly the room had been cleaned. The toilet didn't look clean, and there were deviled eggs left in the fridge.
