Holiday Inn Dallas Dfw Airport Area West

After a long travel day, the room was a welcome place to rest, but what stood out most was the service. We arrived close to midnight along with more than thirty other people after major flight delays, and the front desk person got everyone checked in efficiently without losing their friendliness. At 5 in the morning, the same person helped us all find taxis or the shuttle and calmly handled questions and problems.

The beds were comfortable and clean, and the hotel is conveniently across the highway from the hospital where I stayed, which works well for family. Hot water was scarce in the shower. There was only one outlet or charging port, across the room, and the hallway smelled bad.

We were glad to get into our room earlier than expected. The staff were wonderful and helpful, and the room was very clean. The hotel sits just off 820, but finding the entrance takes close attention. We drove a few minutes up the street for an early dinner at the steak house, only about three minutes away. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Breakfast came as a surprise at checkout: it wasn’t included, and the $18.50 charge felt steep for what was offered. When I raised that and the other problems with the clerk, they seemed indifferent instead of trying to help. The shower only had lukewarm water, so a hot rinse after traveling wasn’t possible. My room also looked badly dated, with worn furniture, stained old carpet, and a strong moldy smell that concerned me. This stay at this holiday Inn was deeply disappointing. The outdated, unclean room, lack of hot water, unexpected charge, and poor service put me off returning or recommending this location.
