Judy's Motel Bedford

The price was hard to beat, and the location worked perfectly for us. We had strong Wi-Fi, cable, air conditioning, hot water, and comfortable beds. The room was clean and comfortable, though dated, which made sense for this quaint family-run motel. We were welcomed warmly and shown to our room. It brought back memories of family vacations from another era.

I thought I could stay a couple more hours while waiting for my car repair, but that was a hard no. They gave me an hour of late checkout when I asked. The phone went unanswered when I called, and the place seemed empty. There's no microwave or fridge, no shampoo or breakfast bars, and it's a bad location if you're on foot. Motel rates for that. I wished I'd gone to Super 8, where at least there'd be breakfast and normal amenities. The reviews are misleading.

This well-kept motel has been around for 70 years and is a great deal. Bill opens the room door for you and explains how everything works. The 50s-style bathroom has wonderful shower pressure, and the bed is comfortable. The TV gets over 100 stations. You can open the windows for fresh air, and there's air conditioning too. Bring a hair dryer and a cooler for your drinks.

The water got hot right away, something those big box hotels can't always manage, LOL. Bill and Delores keep the place in good shape: they cleaned my room every day, even the toilet, and made my bed while I was out. Bill also noticed I needed a bigger bathroom, and that one was very nice. The motel is well lit at night, though it's hard to spot when coming from the East. I had to turn around twice. Lol.
