Comfort Inn Ocean's Edge

We had a ground-floor room and could step straight onto the big lawn, then walk down to the ocean. The view was great, and the room was nice and clean.

The view was beautiful, and I loved that some rooms have little balconies overlooking everything. The room itself was really nice, and the staff were amazing. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned to my standards, though. When I started filling the tub, black and brown chunks came out of the drain. I guess it was clogged. I can’t wait to come back in the summer.

I only had one night here for work, and wished I could have stayed longer. My room was quiet and clean, the hotel was well kept, and the staff were pleasant. From my balcony I got a lovely view of the ocean at sunrise. I didn’t get to try the pool or hot tub.

The location is beautiful, and check-in went well. The woman who helped me then was wonderful. The room was average but okay, though the bed wasn’t great if you can’t sleep flat. I wish they’d bring breakfast back. The next morning, Pam at the front desk called to say the full stay amount hadn’t gone through. We’d booked through Expedia and made a deposit at booking, so I thought only the remaining half was due, as has happened for me before. Screenshot your receipt when you book, it helped me. Pam was extremely rude and loud in front of other customers, saying we didn’t have the money to stay there. I understood it as their mistake at the time. It was my first stay and will be my last. Update: The card wasn’t the problem. We believed the down payment had already been paid, but the wording in the call the next morning didn’t explain things that way. That’s what it is, and I just won’t book like that again. Money and the card were never the issue. Her yelling that I couldn’t afford to stay, with my husband and kids in the lobby on my first day, completely put a damper on the trip. I wish I’d checked out and gone somewhere else. She also spoke badly about other guests. I appreciate the apology, but it felt like it downplayed what happened and how much it affected the trip. Cool hotel, but we’re not coming back.
