Gamble Mill

The bed was very comfortable, and the sheets and pillows were great. It’s a nicely appointed room in a building that’s been renovated well, with good use of the space. But the room stayed below 64 degrees, which is unacceptable at more than $300 a night. The mini-split sits right above the bed, and we couldn’t adjust the louvers, so it blew air that felt cold across our heads and necks all night. It was a very cold night. I wouldn’t stay again unless it were summer. The heat doesn’t work.

The stairs up to the suite on the second and third floors take moderate mobility to climb comfortably. We also enjoyed stopping by the bar downstairs on Saturday. The room was beautiful and a great price, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’m glad to see this landmark getting investment, and to have had the chance to stay there.

The weather looked threatening, so the Republic bar, which we love, closed for safety. We’re hoping to visit it next time. We love staying at the Gamble Mill Inn and always find it comfortable. The Wagner Suite gives us room to relax, with its two bedrooms.

The beds were very comfortable, and the room was quiet apart from interruptions from the railroad. We were impressed by the thoughtful renovation of the whole building and would definitely stay again. I hadn’t expected the bar to close so early, and would have liked a drink there before going upstairs. The town seemed like an early night kind of place, so plan your arrival accordingly.
