I got to the room around midnight, exhausted, but it looked as if the last guest had only just left and it hadn't been cleaned. The bed was made with only a cover and sheet, no blanket. The toilet was filthy with the last person's urine still in it, paint was peeling off the wall, dead bugs were on the shelves, and the floor was disgusting. I went back to my truck and slept in an empty parking lot instead. It felt better and safer than staying there. Outside, there was trash everywhere, homeless people in the parking lot, and hardly any lighting. Inside, the office area was filthy, trim was falling off the elevator, there was blood on the walls and floor, and marijuana stink was everywhere. Tenants were openly drinking and smoking in the hallways and around the building. This is the nastiest hotel I've ever seen. It doesn't even look old, just disgusting. Avoid it at any price.
The night lady is the sweetest and really cool. She should be the hotel manager. The day shift manager, though, was rude and aggressive, and when I complained about my room she said she didn't care. It was extremely smelly, the bathroom wasn't clean, and roaches were crawling out of the microwave and fridge. How can she not care when the rooms are dirty, smelly, and full of roaches?
The other guests are a bit bothersome and noisy right now, but I'm closer to my job here and the staff are nice. I've interacted with three of them: Christina, Jasmine, and someone whose name I can't mention because they asked me not to. For now, this place is OK until I move on. Thanks to all the woodspring staff for making the place great.
The room needed attention, with hair in the sink, moisture in the bathroom, and maintenance needed asap. I know it's an affordable place, but that doesn't excuse the service. The front desk lady seemed upset, and I was afraid she hates travelers checking in at 11 pm when they need to rest. She used sign languages and made faces whenever we interacted. She could talk, but chose to be rude instead. I'll never stay at one of these again.
I've been here about a month and can see them taking reviews seriously. I've noticed active steps against bugs, and automatic sprays in the hallways keep them smelling good. The ladies at the front desk are always polite and friendly with me, and Kenneth is a sweetheart who seems to care. It's good for longer stays, and for people trying to get a foothold on life and get back on their feet, since there's a little kitchenette. It's also handy for short stays if you're passing through or visiting, because you can cook dinner for you and your partner instead of microwaving some Domino's pizza or something. I just wish it were cheaper, but tbh, everything and everywhere costs more in this economy, and that's why I'm here.
