Hampton Inn Belton/Kansas City area

I've stayed here many times over the past 12 years because it's near family, but after my recent one-night visit I won't be back. My room hadn't been vacuumed, and I told the clerk at check-in. When I later raised that with the manager, she apologized and said I'd get extra HH points if a staff member had recorded my complaint. I don't know why my word as a customer wasn't enough, and I still haven't received those points. There was also a problem with the price: the Hilton Honors app showed a rate with taxes when I booked on Jan 3, after the new taxes were said to have started Jan 1. At checkout I was charged almost $10 more. The manager said the app hadn't included the new taxes and refused to adjust the rate. I'm disappointed after being a long-time guest.

I enjoyed the stay and would come back. The room and building were clean, apart from a thick layer of dust on the bathroom vent and a very dusty patch beside and behind the microwave.

We arrived very late after a wedding, and the staff seemed quite nice. Breakfast had lots of choices, and they did a good job keeping everything stocked. The rooms were pretty good, though we didn't realize the blackout curtains had a thicker sun blind until we were leaving, lol. I'd stay again. It's good value if you have family in the Belton-Lee Summit area or want to watch the Royals.

The staff need to do a much better job cleaning. The walls, toilet seat cover, floors, and counters all need a thorough clean. I'd keep driving and stay somewhere else.
